What makes your products special and unique?

  • Superior Sourcing Our herbs are sourced from all over the world to avoid seasonal fluctuations in availability, keeping herbs accessible. Our suppliers meet strict standards that ensure top quality herbs, most of which are organic, wildcrafted, sustainably grown, or grown using permaculture. We support local farmers and grow many of our own herbs.
  • Superior Processing Our tinctures are made using the classic tincturing method. The tinctures are made in a 1:5 ratio which allows for the optimal extraction of the herb. The alcohol percentage is strictly controlled depending on the herb and part of the plant that is used.
  • Superior Selection We take pride in our growing selection of over 300 individual herbs. If we don’t carry the herb you’re seeking, we can likely track it down for you.
  • Superior Quality Control Our tinctures are thoroughly tested by a third-party lab and with an organoleptic evaluation by our team of herbalists prior to final bottling.
  • Superior Price Our tinctures are more cost-effective than other tinctures on the market. With an eye towards efficiency, we keep our costs low by maintaining good relationships with our wide network of suppliers and ordering herbs in bulk quantities.
  • Superior Customization Our dry herbs can be provided in powder form.
  • We Care About the Environment We repackage materials that are shipped to us (so don’t be surprised if our packages look different from time to time!). We recycle or reuse materials whenever possible. We turn the cardboard we receive from other suppliers into packing material. We donate to avoid waste to groups like Naturopaths Without Borders. Our workforce almost completely uses public transportation or bikes. We are powered using 100% renewable energy through Bullfrog Power.

Payment & Pricing

How do you determine tincture prices?

Tincture prices are determined based on the cost of ingredients and packaging. The biggest variable is the cost of the herb. Some of the herbs we carry cost 20 times more than the average herb. We developed a pricing system to account for this wide range in cost. About 75% of our herbs are in the lowest tier of pricing, while a smaller selection are in the more expensive tiers. Our more costly tinctures are priced as such due to the cost of the plant material.

How does Herbal Clinic keep prices as low as possible?

We evaluate and use multiple herb suppliers that meet our quality standards. If one supplier changes pricing, we can rely on more affordable alternatives. We also purchase herbs in bulk to keep prices as low as possible.

How do I pay for my order? What payment methods do you accept?

We accept both credit card payments, including VISA and Mastercard. If for some reason you need to use an alternative payment method, contact us by email.

Do herbal blends cost the same as single herbs?

Our signature blends cost the same as single herbs. However, when using our tincture calculator to create your own custom blend, pricing may differ. Our calculator considers the unique cost of each ingredient. Custom blends will typically cost slightly more than our standard products depending on which herbs are selected.

Can you powder my herbs?

Yes, we can powder your herbs. We charge a powdering fee of $6.99/herb. There are specific herbs we are unable to powder due to their unique texture.

How do you make your tinctures? Are they made from fresh herbs or dried herbs?

We macerate our tinctures for 3-6 weeks and agitate regularly to achieve optimal extraction. Where applicable, we utilize third party testing to ensure quality extracts. We press, filter, bottle and label each and every tincture by hand and with great care and in small batches. Our standard tinctures are made from dried plant material at a 1:5 ratio. Alcohol percentage ranges from 25-60% depending on the herb.

What is the strength/potency of your tinctures?

Our tinctures are a standard 1:5 ratio, meaning 1 part herb to 5 parts menstruum. This is equivalent to 200mg/mL of herb in the tincture.

How should I use your products? What’s the recommended dose?

For liability and regulatory reasons, we don’t make any claims as to how our herbs should be used, including dosing recommendations. Please review our disclaimer, as well as our terms and policies.

Do you sell high-potency tinctures?

We carry a selection of high-potency tinctures, which are made at a 1:2 ratio, meaning 1 part herb to 2 parts menstruum This is equivalent to 500mg/ml of herb in the tincture. These tinctures are available for purchase through our website under the high-potency category

What is the alcohol in your tinctures derived from? Is it gluten-free?

The alcohol used in our tinctures is derived from Canadian corn and is produced in a gluten-free facility. Although our alcohol does not contain gluten, it is not certified gluten-free.

I see sediment in my tincture. Is this normal?

Yes! It’s completely normal to find some sediment in your tincture. Sediment is simply herbal goodness that has fallen out of solution. We recommend shaking your tincture before taking it so that any sediment is included in your dose. When shaking a tincture with sediment, it may appear cloudy. This is totally natural and safe to consume.

What tincture ratios do you offer?

Our standard tinctures are 1:5 (200mg/ml). We also offer a selection of high-potency tinctures, which are 1:2 (500mg/ml).
